Grow a Garden: Farm Cosmetics & Expansions Arrive

Grow a Garden Farm Cosmetics Expansions Arrive

The virtual world of Grow a Garden has received a significant overhaul. The “Farm Cosmetics” update, launched on May 24, 2025, as part of Update 1.07.0, introduces a wealth of new features designed to enhance player experience.

This update focuses heavily on personalizing your in-game garden. It also brings new ways to expand your farm, introduces exciting new items, adds fresh events, and implements crucial quality-of-life improvements. This guide will detail each new addition, offering a comprehensive look at what players can now expect.

Customizing Your Garden: The New Cosmetics Shop

Previously, personalizing your garden in Grow a Garden was limited to creative plant arrangements. Now, players have far more expressive options.

Beyond Plant Arrangements: Furniture and Decorations

Before the Farm Cosmetics update, players could only customize their gardens by strategically placing plants. This might involve creating patterns with carrots or planting a giant mango tree as a centerpiece. With Update 1.07.0, a dedicated Cosmetics Shop has been introduced. This new shop empowers players to place a variety of furniture and decorative items. These additions allow for a much deeper level of visual customization. Players can now truly design their unique virtual garden space.

Accessing and Placing Cosmetics

For those fortunate enough to have participated in the past Monster Mash World Record event, a special limited-edition item awaits. The exclusive Monster Mash Potion Trophy is a rare cosmetic. Otherwise, all new cosmetic items can be found at the dedicated Cosmetics Shop. This shop is conveniently located near the existing Pet Eggs and Gear Shop.

Once a player acquires an item they wish to place, they simply head to their garden. A new button, easily identifiable by overlapping hammer and wrench icons, appears at the top left corner of the screen. Clicking this button reveals a new window at the bottom of the screen. This window displays all owned cosmetic items. To place an item, click it once.

To reposition a placed item, click it again to reveal three options. The first button allows for clicking and dragging to move the item. The third button offers the option to return the item to storage.

New Cosmetic Shop Items: A Detailed List

The Cosmetics Shop features a rotating inventory of items, from common decorations to mythical treasures.

Shop Inventory and Restock Mechanics

The Cosmetic Shop’s inventory restocks every 4 hours, offering players a fresh selection of items periodically. For those eager to find specific items or who simply can’t wait, there’s an option to manually refresh the shop. Players can spend 79 Robux to instantly update the shop’s offerings.

Expanding Your Garden: More Space for Creativity

The Farm Cosmetics update introduces a highly anticipated, albeit expensive, way to grow your farm.

Up to Four Expansions Available

A cool new feature within this update is the ability to expand your garden up to four times. Developer Jandel had teased this possibility days before the update. This was done to gauge player interest, which evidently was high. Each expansion comes with a significant cost. The current price for a single garden expansion is a hefty 250,000,000 Sheckles.

How to Expand Your Farm

Initiating an expansion is straightforward. Players simply need to navigate to the outer perimeter of their existing garden. Look for a prominent sign on either the left or right side that clearly reads, “Expand Garden.” Walking up to this sign will display the 250,000,000 Sheckle price. Interacting with the sign will allow players to confirm their purchase and expand their farm, providing more space for planting, decorating, and new adventures.

New Events and Exclusive Items

The update also brings fresh in-game events and a limited-time cosmetic crate for dedicated players.

Exciting New In-Game Events

The official patch notes for Update 1.07.0 hinted at two specific new events. They also vaguely mentioned “various new secret events” being added to Grow a Garden. One teased event, “DJ Jhai,” might refer to the previously held Monster Mash World Record event, from which players could earn the trophy cosmetic.

The patch notes also mentioned a new “plasma mutation” tied to a “Lazer Event.” These new events promise fresh challenges and opportunities for unique rewards within the game.

Limited-Time Exotic Cosmetic Crate

The Farm Cosmetics update introduced a new type of crate available for purchase using Robux in the in-game shop. Unlike the previous “Exotic Bug Egg,” this Exotic Cosmetic Crate specifically revolves around the new furniture and statues that players can place in their gardens. It is currently unknown whether the items found within this crate will eventually appear in the Cosmetic Shop for Sheckle purchases.

For comparison, the “Exotic Bug Egg” can sometimes appear without spending Robux, though with a low 3% chance. This might also be the case for the Cosmetic Crate. However, players should note that the Exotic Cosmetic Crate is a limited-time offer. It will only be available for seven days before disappearing from the shop. This creates an urgent opportunity for players interested in these exclusive cosmetic items.

Quality of Life Enhancements: Improving Gameplay Flow

Beyond new content, the update includes several quality-of-life changes designed to make gameplay smoother and more intuitive.

Improved Pet Management

One significant quality-of-life improvement in the Farm Cosmetics update is the introduction of a new pet menu. Players can access this new window by clicking two small arrows located on the right side of their screen. This opens a dedicated interface for managing all their pets. A particularly beneficial feature is the ability to feed pets directly from this menu. This eliminates the need to chase down individual pets in the garden, saving considerable time and effort.

The new pet window also displays other useful information at a glance. This includes how hungry each pet is, their current age, and a convenient button to pick them up. The “pick up” function is especially useful for players who are looking to trade pets for additional pet slots, streamlining that process.

Other Minor, Yet Impactful, Enhancements

Aside from the comprehensive pet menu, the Grow a Garden developers have implemented several other smaller but highly useful quality-of-life changes:

  • Rotating plants using the Trowel: This new functionality allows for more precise and creative placement of plants, adding another layer to garden customization.
  • Seeing mutations when looking at a fruit: This visual cue provides immediate feedback on plant growth and potential mutations, enhancing the harvesting experience.
  • A Harvest Tool: This innovative tool allows players to harvest all grown fruits from a single plant with just one use. This greatly speeds up the harvesting process, particularly for large farms with numerous plants.

These thoughtful additions collectively contribute to a more efficient, enjoyable, and user-friendly experience within Grow a Garden.
