The droptop produces 656 horsepower. It also generates 590 pound-feet of torque. These figures are identical to the coupe. Its claimed top speed is 202 mph. This also matches the hardtop.

 

Transmission and Dynamics

A rear-mounted eight-speed automatic transaxle is the sole gearbox option. Aston discontinued the dog-leg manual for the 2022 model year. Power balance at the rear axle comes via an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. The Roadster’s weight distribution is 49:51 front-to-rear. The coupe has a 50:50 distribution. The Roadster is claimed to reach 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. This is only a tenth of a second behind the hardtop. Previous tests showed the hardtop bettered its estimate.
