SCG 007s: 1,000 HP Hypercar with Three Seats

SCG 007s 1000 HP Hypercar with Three Seats

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) has officially launched the road-going version of its formidable 007 Le Mans Hypercar. Dubbed the SCG 007s, this new hypercar brings unparalleled motorsport pedigree to public roads.

Following Glickenhaus’s tradition, it is a direct evolution of its race-bred counterpart. What truly sets the 007s apart is its remarkable three-seat layout, reminiscent of the iconic McLaren F1, and a staggering 1,000 horsepower output.

Design and Engineering: From Track to Tarmac

The SCG 007s retains a striking resemblance to its Le Mans racing sibling, while incorporating necessary modifications for road legality and passenger comfort.

Race-Inspired Aesthetics with Road Adaptations

The most striking aspect of the new 007s is its visual similarity to the race car. While not identical, it maintains many of the same aggressive aerodynamic features. These include a similar front splitter, a massive shark fin, and a prominent rear wing. These elements are crucial for generating downforce and ensuring stability at high speeds.

The car also sports the same distinctive livery as the race car: a vibrant shade of blue adorned with red, white, and dark blue racing stripes, emphasizing its competition heritage. For road use, the 007s sits slightly taller and is both less wide and less low than the pure race machine. Crucially, the cockpit has been significantly enlarged to accommodate its unique seating arrangement, diverging from the single-seater race car.

The Heart of the Beast: 1,000 HP V8

Underneath its aggressive bodywork, the 007s houses a potent twin-turbocharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. This powerhouse churns out an immense 1,000 horsepower and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Power is exclusively sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automated manual transmission, promising lightning-fast gear changes and direct driver engagement.

With a remarkably low curb weight of just 1,550 kg (3,417 lbs), the SCG 007s is poised to deliver exceptionally quick acceleration and dynamic performance. While specific performance figures like 0-60 mph times haven’t been officially disclosed, its power-to-weight ratio suggests blistering pace.

Unique Seating and Interior Philosophy

The SCG 007s breaks from conventional hypercar norms by offering a passenger-centric experience.

The Three-Seat Configuration

One of the most remarkable features of the 007s is its three-seat layout. This configuration places the driver centrally, flanked by two passenger seats positioned slightly behind and to either side. This design choice was famously pioneered by the legendary McLaren F1 and later adopted by the McLaren Speedtail. The central driving position offers unparalleled visibility and a truly immersive driving experience, mimicking the focus of a race car.

A Purpose-Built Cockpit

Given its strong foundation in racing, the interior of the 007s is intentionally minimalist. It features a motorsport-inspired carbon fiber steering wheel, designed for optimal grip and control. Two small screens provide essential vehicle information, keeping distractions to a minimum. Creature comforts are notably scarce, as this hypercar is unashamedly focused on the pure thrill of driving.

Buyers should not expect luxury amenities like advanced infotainment systems, heated seats, or massage functions. This is a car built for performance and the visceral connection between driver and machine, making it a perfect “track toy” for enthusiasts.

Availability and Exclusivity

The SCG 007s made its grand debut at the prestigious Concours d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the picturesque shores of Lake Como, Italy.

Pricing and Production Details

As of its unveiling, specific pricing details and production numbers for the SCG 007s remain unannounced. However, given its bespoke nature, race-bred engineering, and the exclusivity associated with Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus vehicles, a high price tag is anticipated.

Earlier reports suggested a price point around $2.3 million for the race car itself, with road-going versions expected to be equally, if not more, exclusive. Production numbers are likely to be very limited, potentially around 24 to 30 units, ensuring its rarity and desirability among collectors and hypercar enthusiasts. Further information regarding its price and production schedule is expected to be revealed closer to its market release.
