BMW is preparing to unveil the M2 CS. However, its full details have already emerged. Technical specifications and pricing are now public. A trusted member from Bimmer Post forums shared these specifics. This new Competition Sport model is highly anticipated.
Engine Power and Torque Revealed
The hottest G87 is said to produce 523 horsepower. M engineers enhanced the twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine. This extracts 50 more horsepower than the 2025 M2.
One missing piece was the torque figure. The S58 engine now delivers 479 lb-ft (650 Nm). This is an increase of 37 lb-ft (50 Nm). This compares to the M2 with an automatic transmission. Our sources in Munich were also correct about one thing. A manual gearbox will not be offered. The second-generation M2 CS will only have an eight-speed Steptronic. All power goes to the rear wheels.
M4-Level Performance in the M2 CS
The new M2 CS matches the M4’s output. It boasts 523 hp and 479 lb-ft. Leaked specs show a significant weight reduction. BMW shaved 97 lbs (44 kg) from the automatic M2. This brings the M2 CS curb weight to 3,770 lbs (1,710 kg). It is also 60 lbs (27 kg) lighter than the base M4. These figures are for the North American version. Euro-spec models may have slight variations.
The same leaker states fast acceleration. The M2 CS sprints from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds. This shaves two-tenths of a second off the automatic M2’s time. It is also a tenth of a second quicker than the base M4 Coupe. Its electronically limited top speed is 188 mph (303 km/h). This is an 11 mph (18 km/h) increase over the non-CS M2 with the M Driver’s Package. It’s also 8 mph (13 km/h) faster than the standard M4.
Carbon Fiber and Distinctive Design
The M2 CS features visual upgrades. It has a standard ducktail spoiler. This is integrated into a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic trunk lid. It also includes an aggressive rear diffuser. This is made from exposed carbon fiber. Matte Gold Bronze 827M wheels are standard. BMW equips the car with specific tires. These are 275/35 ZR19 front and 285/30 ZR20 rear tires. “Track and ultra-track” rubber is a no-cost option.
The M2 CS also gets a matte black front splitter. A more aggressive kidney grille is present. This is in line with other CS-badged models. Ride height is lowered by 0.2 inches (5 millimeters). Ground clearance is now 4.7 inches. Springs, dampers, and chassis are further tuned, as expected.
Luxurious and Sporty Interior
Inside, standard equipment is premium. Carbon bucket front seats are included. They are wrapped in black Merino leather. M accents and an illuminated CS badge are present. The steering wheel is covered in Alcantara. It features a red 12 o’clock marker. M-themed seatbelts reinforce the car’s identity. M2 CS-branded side sills also add to the special feel.
Color Options and Pricing Details
Buyers have three regular color choices. These are Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, or Portimao Blue. There is no extra cost for these. For a unique look, Velvet Blue Metallic is available. This is an Individual color option. It costs an extra $3,600.
The starting price for the M2 CS is $99,775. This includes destination and handling fees. Carbon-ceramic brakes are optional. They cost $8,500. A fully loaded price can reach $111,875. Even at this price, it is still nearly $13,000 less than the base M4 CS.
Official Confirmation and Production Numbers
BMW will officially unveil the M2 CS soon. Expect all these leaked details to be confirmed. There is still no official word on production numbers. However, sources suggest limited availability. No more than 2,000 units are likely to be made. It could even be fewer. This makes the M2 CS highly exclusive.
